| Alejandro Sánchez Pizarro (Alejandro Sanz) was born in Madrid, Spain on December 18, 1968. He acquired his love of music from his godfather, composer Manuel Alejandro, and by the age of 7 already played the guitar and was composing his own songs. His first demo, recorded while he was still in his teens, was rejected by the Hispavox label. However, Warner accepted it enthusiastically and released it as an album in 1991. Viviendo deprisa obtained seven platinum records in Spain alone. In 1993 he released Si tu me miras, with excellent reviews confirming him as one of the best songwriters of his generation. He further expanded his popularity with the release of 3 and Más In 2000 he recorded El alma al aire, his greatest hit album. |
