Barrio Fino
Daddy Yankee, whose real name is Raymond Ayala, was born on February 3rd, 1997 in Río Piedras and began to get involved in Puerto Ricos urban music scene as a DJ on the beaches. One of his first steps was being included in the band that made the original soundtrack for the movie One tough cop, with the successful song, Posicion. Daddy Yankee has dabbled in diverse rhythms such as salsa and meringue and was featured on The Dynasty from Grupo Mania, but its definitely his Latino rap and reggaeton that the world best knows him for. He was featured on Universal Latinos compilation, The best reggeton beats with the song Gata gangster, recorded with Don Omar. This disc, Barrio Fino, hit number one on the Top Latin Albums chart published by Billboard, thanks to the song Gasolina. |
Ahora Le Toca al Cangri! Live
Released in 2005, Ahora le toca al cangri! Live, was recorded at a concert in Puerto Rico, in which the king of improvisation, Daddy Yankee, gave an energetic show, as his fans are used to seeing. On this record by the reggaeton king, the outstanding songs were Tu eres mi baby, Puerto Rico te la dedico, Se acelera el flow" and Dale hasta abajo. |

El Cartel: The Big Boss
Este album es el primero que producido en studio desde el lanzamiento de Barrio Fino en el año 2004. Cuenta con importantes participaciones especiales del mundo del reggaeton, entre ellos: Fergie, Jim Jones, Nicole Scherzinger de las Pussycat Dolls, Héctor “El Father”, Akon y Will.i.am de los Black Eyed Peas. El sencillo “Impacto” que se desprende de esta producción ya lleva varias semanas en los primeros puestos de los ranking mundiales.
