The band (www.siliconfly.com) was brought together for the first time in 2001 by singer, guitarist and composer Guilherme Savoi. The first album “Here we are”, which was recorded in 2003, had a wide and unexpected acceptance by the press and the public. In South Africa, for example, they had four number one songs on the most important college stations in the country. In 2005, Warren Riker (www.myspace.com/warrenriker), who has won three Grammys and has collaborated with Carlos Santana, Lauryn Hill and The Fugees, among others, contacted Guilherme after hearing “Here we are.” Guillermo sent Riker his group’s new demos and within a few months of exchanging music and talking on the phone the band traveled to Los Angeles. In LA they found Oceanway, the prestigious studio where musicians and groups like Paul Mc Cartney, Green Day, Whitney Houston, Rolling Stones, No Doubt, and Fleetwood Mac, among many others recorded. At Oceanway they recorded their second album “Encontrarle la Vuelta-Find A Way.” The album was released in two versions, one with twelve songs in Spanish and the second in English with fourteen songs. For this recording, Guilherme put together an incredible mix of talented musicians that have been part of international successful bands like: Pantera, Illya Kuryaki & The Valderramas, Molotov, Charly Garcia, Milton Nascimento, Jaime Roos, Luis Salinas and Fito Páez, among others. The album was co-produced by Warren Riker and Guilherme himself. The album shows not only Guilherme’s growth as a composer and interpreter, but it also gives testimony to the musical evolution the group experienced by incorporating these incredible musicians.
