Martín Cuevas Cobos was born in Guadalajara, México. He soon became known as Pedro Fernández, a name taken from two great artists of Mexican music: Pedro Infante and Vicente Fernández. At a very young age, he was acknowledged up by the Composers and Authors Society of Guadalajara because of his great talent and with their support he recorded his first CD. His first success was “La de la Mochila azul,” for which he is still identified in the Spanish speaking world. When he recorded that album in 1975, Pedro was just 7 years old. Due to the popularity of that album, he recorded several more and acted in many films, giving him the possibility of becoming movie star. Following a quarrel with his father, he made a try in pop music, and recorded songs like “Maniqui,” “Coqueta” and “El perdedor.” Later, he was part of the group “Muñecos de Papel,” together with artists like Ricky Martín, Angélica Rivera, Bibi Gaytan, Sasha, and Eric. However, his pop songs were a failure and Pedro Fernández decided to return to the genre that made him a star. In 1994, “Mi Forma de Sentir” went platinum in México, and double platinum in the United States, Venezuela, Chile and almost all of Central América.

The album “Deseos y Delirios” appeared in 1996 and included the songs “Si tu supieras,” “Mi forma de sentir,” and “El Sinaloense” and was a compilation of his most popular songs. The CD sold over 300 thousand copies. In 1998, “Aventurero” was released. Recently, Pedro Fernández has found the same success that he knew as a small child.
