After finishing high school, Melisa started her formal training in voice studies at the J.J.Castro Conservatory (Buenos Aires, Argentina). There she continued her education with renowned singing coaches and took private lessons involving technique and repertoire. She also took classes in acting and dance. She also began training specifically for opera and other academic genres, as well as pursing a career as a singer/songwriter. She chose this career because it encompassed her three passions: musical composition, singing and writing. She has a vast range of experience in diverse musical styles, ranging from well-known chamber music pieces, as a soloist for orchestral/choral concerts, to opera and musical comedies. All of which have helped to shape her personal style of composition. In 2001, she recorded her first album La Boca del Buey and performed in various venues around Buenos Aires. In 2003, she had a brief but nonetheless enriching experience as a songwriter, working in collaboration with composer-producer Raul Del Sol. She has since continued to compose and write, drawing from her various life experiences which have allowed her to grow and mature as a songwriter. Driven by a passion for singing, music, and literature, she became a singer-songwriter to unifying these three fields. She has conceived art as a never ending search for perfect harmony. Words, voice and melodies are all vehicles that can be used to reach this point of elusive, almost unattainable harmony. She utilizes these elements to shape esthetically pleasing songs. Songs that are born from the pleasure of mixing and exploring a broad range of musical influences, going through rock-pop (Latin and world) to jazz and classical music. Music that comes from intuitive inspiration and a somewhat non-prejudiced attitude to composing that tries to defy stereotypes and elude any kind of tags or classifications (both musically and otherwise.) She shapes songs without artistic or intellectual limitations in order to communicate freely with her listeners. She tries to convey feelings which are in essence the overall concept around which all her songs are created. The voice and words are the main elements used to convey these diverse messages. The songs portray, almost like landscapes, very diverse scenes, moods, scents, colors and ambiences, which are in most cases tinted an amber hue. Each story is depicted with a sense of nostalgia, of melancholy that seems to pervade the songs entire being. This, in turn, somehow unveils the creative impulse behind each composition, allowing the listener to discover the authenticity of feelings and reveal the essence and uniqueness of each creation.
