When one sees the audience reaction from up onstage its something that fills you with feeling and the desire to keep singing and doing what it is youre passionate about, said the artist, adding that is was one the most important experiences of his career.
Voltio, who last Friday played Miamis House of Blues, will also hit his own Detroit, Michigan, Tampa, Florida, New York City, Portland, Sacramento, San Diego, Las Vegas and other cities in Connecticut, Texas and Colorado. Puerto Rican culture continues to make its mark in US pop culture, and now its time for rapper Julio Voltio, who wants to establish his music in this country.
Voltio whose real name is Julio Irving Ramos Filomeno was born in Puerto Rico in 1978, and leaped to fame in 2002, after a concert put together in Orlando, Florida. There he met one the most important figures in reggaeton at the time, Tego Calderón, who proposed that he and the young Julio record an album together.
From this beginning, Julio Voltio gathered followers that have brought reggaeton to places that were unthinkable not long ago.
His first album, Voltage AC, was produced by the same Tego Calerón, who furthermore contributed by singing with Voltio on the songs, Julito Maraña and Se Van, Se Van. The disc, released in 2005 by White Lion, was distributed by multinational company Sony Music. According to Voltio himself, the idea is that each song convey a message and a reflection, leaving room for dance and fun.
