Julio Voltio says he is being persecuted

Over the next few days, the reggaeton star Julio Voltio, will file a suit against agents that served him with a false firearm possession suit. According to Voltio, this is just another example of the persecution of Latin rap artists, with him as its first victim.

Julio Voltio “The police violated his civil rights, infringing his dignity and privacy”, said Voltio’s attorney, Ernie Cabán Santiago.

On Monday while the singer was waiting in the parking lot of the label White Lion, in Ocean Park, unidentified agents surrounded him.

When questioned by the press, the police said they had received an anonimous call saying the rapper was carrying a weapon. However, when they found no weapons, they gave him a traffic fine

“First we will contest the 25 dollar ticket since there was no reason to ask for his license”, said his attorney.

“They yelled and pulled me out of the car. They searched me and wanted to search the car to look for a weapon I didn’t have. When they realized they had no reason to hold me they gave me a ticket”, said Julio Irving Ramos Filomeno, better known as Julio Voltio, who considers this to be a persecution of rappers.

“The sergeant who searched me said, ‘I’m in charge of taking care of rappers.’ This isn’t the first time this has happened to me, this has happened before over the last two years. I can identify each officer because it’s always the same ones”, said Voltio who is still facing a charge for illegal substances.
