Julio Voltio supports K-Narias

The reggaeton duo K-Narias, made of the twins Gara and Loida Hernandez, made its debut last Saturday during a concert with Puerto Rican artists Julio Voltio, Pedro Prez and Don Chezina, a show that caused a sensation in the Canary Islands.

Julio Voltio The show, which took place at the Pabellón Santiago Martín de Los Majuelos, in La Laguna, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and that can hold up to 5000 people, was a celebration of the success of their brand-new album, “40 entre las 2,” which has already sold more than 30,000 copies in the Canaries alone in only three months, according to manager Carlos Zerolo.

“I’m here to represent Puerto Rican reggaeton with K-Narias, the twins I like so much,” said Voltio during a press conference last Friday shortly before the concert. He also said it was his third visit to Tenerife, where the Teide, Spain’s highest peak, is located.

The artist, who collaborates with K-Narias in the song “En este infierno,” declared that the main reason why he came to Tenerife is that “I believe in their product.”

“I was part of this project and I wish them every success,” said the reggaeton artist.

Another artist that participated in this concert was Pedro Prez, one of the reggaeton figures who also support this Spanish duo.

“We came from across the pond so that people can dance and enjoy this genre, which is becoming popular not only for its music but for its message for the youth. I was part of this project and I believed in them from the very beginning,” he added.

Thanks to their debut album, “40 entre las dos,” the Tenerife-born twins Gara and Loida have become a musical phenomenon in the Canary Islands, having sold the most copies in only a few weeks.

K-Narias is the first Spanish duo to play reggaeton music, but the message of their songs is completely different to that of the passionate, chauvinist or violent lyrics of the standard reggaeton, the rhythm created in Puerto Rico and Panama in the nineties, a blend of Jamaican reggae and Puerto Rican rap which few women dared to sing to date.
