After their successful Mexican tour, Babasónicos introduced their new album “Anoche” last Saturday at the Luna Park Stadium in Buenos Aires. |

 Ever since Babasónicos released “Infame” they have been very active in Mexico, where their fan base has increased exponentially thanks to their perverse, ephemeral, committed and hopeful lyrics.
Their visit to Mexico took place soon after the release of their latest album, “Anoche,” chosen by the Chicago Tribune, Clarin’s music supplement Si and Pagina 12’s music supplement No as Album of the Year.
“Anoche,” a Universal release, came out in October 2005 and went Gold in less than a week for the sale of 20,000 copies in Argentina.
Babasónicos introduced “Anoche” with a psychedelic show. The band also played the most popular songs of their fifteen-year career.
More than 6,000 people were fascinated by their music during the band’s first presentation of the year in Argentina.
Frontman Adrian Dargelos appeared on stage, which was covered with a white curtain and several light towers, wearing a glittering tunic and opened the show with “Así se habla” followed by “Carismático.”
The best moments of the show were when the band played old classics like “Yegua” and everybody in the audience danced to it.
Powerfully rendered songs like “Sin mi diablo;” “Pendejo” and “El Playboy” showed that Babasónicos are capable of the best rock.
One and a half hours into the concert, they played “Deléctrico” and “Solita,” and Dargelos announced the end of the show, but the public refused to go and started catcalling.
The band reserved “Camarín;” “El Loco” and “Fizz” for the encores. Then they said goodbye to an audience that asked for more.
