Jaguares, against the wall

Popular Mexican rock group Juaguares expressed their rejection as the US government plans to build a third wall on its border with Mexico.

Radios where you may find this artist: Classic Rock.
Jaguares Just before performing in a concert on the border in front of 5,000 fans joined together in the central square of the Bosque de la Ciudad, Saúl Hernández, the line-up’s leader, rejected the creation of this new metallic fence that the US government is constructing.

In the event organized by the Sistema Integral de la Familia (Mexico City,) the singer defended immigrants trying to cross to the other side in search of work.

“We ask on behalf of our flesh and blood looking for a better left who have been murdered in their attempt to cross this idiotic line. Race, no one has the right to hurt them,” he intoned.

Hernández recalled all the Mexican immigrants who have died on the nations' border in their attempt to arrive at what he called the “American Dream.”

Later, the Mexican band’s leader repudiated the abuses committed by the Border Patrol agents in the US against immigrants, and said that their attempt to cross into this country does not make them criminals.

On the other hand and in spite of the rumors flying in recent months about a band's possible break-up, Juaguares assured that the rumors were false.

They have emerge because, once the tour put on in Mexico, the US and other Latin American countries comes to an end, the band’s members had decided to take some well-deserved vacation time.

After this break, a raring to restart their activity, the band has put together some things, like having participated with Amnesty International recorded a Spanish version of the song “Gimme Some Truth,” by John Lennon for the CD “Make Some Noise.”

The compilation, which the organization is using in its fight for the protection of human rights worldwide is already on sale and includes works by artists like The Cure, The Black Eyed Peas, The Postal Service, Snow Patrol and Maroon 5, among others.

“Gimme Some Truth” was produced by Adrian Belew (guitarist in King Crimson who’s accompanied with people like Frank Zappa, David Bowie and the Talking Heads) who also even adds his tune to the song whose lyrics, in spite of having been written such a long time ago, still align perfectly with the CD’s purpose.
