 Miami, FL, August 1, 2006. - Jerry Rivera continues to surprise Latin American audiences: a few days ago he put on a show in Spain, and yesterday, on his birthday, he flew to Orlando, Florida, from Mexico City. The singer known as “baby face” for many years is still a promising, good looking artist with a lot of artistic qualities to show.
His most recent album, “Ay, mi vida,” was released during a press conference held in Mexico City where many journalists attended. The Puerto Rican-born artist had just arrived from Veracruz, Mexico, where he performed at Feria de Santa Rosa before more than 10,000 people, and was very pleased with the results.
Rivera also participated in the Mexican TV show “Bailando por la Boda de un Sueño” and was asked to be the best man of the winning couple, who will get married in November. So that’s a pending commitment for him.
Rivera, who suddenly broke into the tropical music market more than a decade ago, has had an interesting career, venturing into other genres and reaching high maturity in his performance with leading producers like Emanuele Ruffinengo, who produced “Ay, mi vida,” and the late Bebu Silvetti, who wisely guided Jerry in the pop genre and produced songs like “Eres,” one of the first songs this young Puerto Rican singer used to get into the pop genre successfully.
Now, with more experience and more than two million copies sold around the world, Jerry Rivera released an album with nine new songs, three of them in salsa version. He wrote some of those songs, and others, like “Ay, mi vida,” were written by the creative couple made up of Danilo Ballo and Elena Roggero.
