Julio Voltio pays for his innocence

The popular rapper Julio Voltio has spent nearly 200,000 dollars on legal fees in his case for unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

Radios where you may find this artist: Reggaeton.
Julio Voltio The artist explained he chose to “defend his innocence” so he appealed to the Special Investigations Bureau (NIE) of the Department of Justice.

Voltio filed a criminal complaint against his arresting officers, Juan Vargas Quintana and Pedro Santiago Casiano, for damages.

Accompanied by dancer Omar Martínez and DJ René Quiñones, his co-defendants, the rapper met Mary Franco, special aide to the Secretary of Justice, to make clear that he is the victim of "injustice, because I stand accused of a crime I didn’t commit."

According to Voltio, other moments of his life were about Latin rappers being pursued.

“Police officers violated his civil rights, his dignity and privacy in an inappropriate manner,’ Ernie Cabán Santiago, Voltio’s attorney, explained some months ago, after an incident between the rapper and the police.

It all began the day he was standing in a car park near the White Lion dance club in Ocean Park and some unidentified officers searched him.

When asked by journalists, the officers claimed they got an anonymous call saying that the artist was in possession of a weapon, but as they failed to find it, they imposed him a traffic fine.

“First, we will contest the 25 dollar fine because they didn’t have the right to request his driver’s license and vehicle registration,” the attorney said.

“They were yelling at me and held me against the car; then they searched me and wanted to search the car for a weapon I didn’t have,” the artist said.

“When they saw I didn’t have a gun, or any reason for them to arrest me, they imposed me a traffic fine,” said Julio Irving Ramos Filomeno, better known as Julio Voltio, who thinks this was part of a widespread persecution against rappers.
