Silicon Fly |

|
The band Silicon Fly continues to be on the rise |
After opening at Los Tipitos's shows in Montevideo on May 19, they shared the stage with the Spanish band La Oreja de Van Gogh. |
|
|
The show, carried out in the Cilindro Municipal de Montevideo, was attended by more than 8,000 people, who also made an appearance on the band's first video clip.
Silicon Fly on the ups! The band took the necessary steps to do their first video with Ryan Smith (www.ryansmithdirector.com) and the production company Merge@Crossroads (www.mergefilms.com). Ryan has had incredible success with videos that he has done for Good Charlotte, Simple Plan, and Breaking Benjamin among others. On the other hand, the production company keeps raising the bar with videos they have done for Foo Fighters, System of a Down, Panic at the Disco! (winner of Video of the Year at the 2006 VMA’s) among others. The band wishes to capture international markets by presenting their video in Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, United States, etc. since the video clip was done in Spanish and English.
Silicon Fly walked the red carpet. Guilherme (leading singer, writer, and music composer) flew up to Las Vegas for a movie premier. Guille Savoi was in Las Vegas attending the premier of “Cattle Call” (www.imdb.com/title/tt0398839) - a National Lampoon movie with a great cast: Thomas Ian Nicholas (American Pie, American Pie 2, American Wedding, etc.), Diedrich Bader (The Drew Carey Show, Miss Congeniality 2, Eurotrip, Napoleon Dynamite, etc.) and Nicole Eggert (Baywatch, Cluless, Gilmore Girls, etc) among others. “Cattle Call” will be screening in the United States shortly. Silicon Fly’s song “Searching” will appear in the movie as well as in the soundtrack of the movie. This is a keystone step for the band as they move forward presenting their new album “Find a way – Encontrarle la Vuelta”.
Silicon Fly has decided to go ahead and do a cover of the famous song “Tell Me Lies” from acclaimed band Fleetwood Mac. For the occasion Guilherme Savoi invited talented musicians, among them was Rex Brown (former bass player of Pantera) heavy rock bass player of the band Down. The heavy sound from the band plus the distinguishable voice of Guilherme forces the song to take a 180 degree turn, catching the listeners immediately by presenting something of great quality.
Silicon Fly on-line! The band has become part of VOY MUSIC (www.voymusic.com) and in less than two months “Buscando – Searching” has become the number one song on the Music Store from the website. VOY MUSIC has had incredible success in promoting latin American artists through their website. Some of the features this innovative website offers are to download music, read biographies of your favorite bands as well as listen to on-line radio among many others.
