Miami, FL, March, 2008.– Everyone expects the new Chambao album to bring fresh air into the pop scene. Not only because of its title “Con otro aire”, but because they have create a new way of composing and interpreting with every note they play.
The trend that this group started, since their breakthrough into the music industry in 2002, is more strongly reaffirmed in this new production and is more obvious when hearing “Papeles mojados” play, the first single.
The song, that won the hearts of good music lovers, is pure emotion. It reconstructs, with sounds and words, the story of thousands of immigrants that throw themselves into the sea in search for a better life.
“The tide brings thousands of shadows each night / they sail with high expectations that stay behind in the shore / Everyday stories, stories of good people / They gamble with their lives tired, hungry and painfully cold”, says the first verse.
Traditional instruments like the kanun, the saz and African percussions, like the darbuka, the dahola and the gangura, stir together the tale told by the voice of La Mari, preceded by Eastern inspired voices.
The new album follows the success of the previous one “Pokito a poko”, that took the musicians in a worldwide tour and placed them among the favorites in 20 countries, where they were on top of the charts for up to 50 weeks in many of them.
“Papeles mojados” is for Chambao another key that will continue to open up our hearts.
The album “Con otro aire” is another Sony BMG production on sale now.
