| | Album Description | | | Israel Cachao López is considered to be the creator of the mambo. He wrote more than 3000 danzones (traditional Cuban style) with his brother Orestes. They began in the descargas habaneras. These were sessions of free improvisation (in the style of jazz sessions), which became the inspiration for the spontaneous sound of salsa. These prolific sessions are heard on the recordings Cachao y su conjunto descarga and Jam Session with Feeling: Descargas cubanas. | |
